Agape 5k Race Sponsorship & Participation
Tillinghast & Associates has sponsored and run in the Agape 5k Race since 2017. The race is a major fundraiser for Building Families for Children (BFC), a local nonprofit organization who serves at-risk children and families through their continuum of services. Over the years, BFC has helped more than 20,000 children and parents - regardless of their background or beliefs. They serve kids at home and in their communities, versus institutional settings, believing this best encourages their healthy growth and development.
CHANA Race Against Abuse Sponsorship & Participation
The CHANA “Race Against Abuse,” held annually on Mother’s Day, was created in honor of a dear friend of Tillinghast and his team, Barbi Hyman. After Barbi passed away, her family worked with CHANA to create this race in her memory, saying this: "My mom's wish was that every young person would be able to navigate the world of relationships in a healthy way and create a culture without abuse. When my mom passed away far too soon, our family wanted to carry on her unwavering commitment to a safe community.” Tillinghast & Associates has supported and participated in the race since its inception.
University of Maryland Medical System Holiday Gift Wrapping
Each year the members of Tillinghast & Associates donate their time and holiday cheer to families in Baltimore by wrapping holiday gifts for children who are patients at various local hospitals. The families, who are spending the holidays alongside their young ones in the hospital, pick out gifts courtesy of a toy drive organized by NAIFA-Maryland, and have them wrapped by volunteers. The gifts are then distributed by Santa and the nursing staff to the children. The giftwrapping event is the team’s favorite holiday tradition!
Hampden Small Fry League Sponsorship
Tillinghast & Associates is a proud sponsor of youth baseball & softball teams in the Hampden Small Fry League! Tillinghast has been sponsoring the league and its team via matching gifts since 2017. Tasha Williams, Tillinghast & Associate’s Director of Advanced Planning, began coaching a softball team of 10 to 14-year-old athletes in 2019, where she & her staff lead the team to victory as the league champs.
